Four exercises to make your speech clear
You can have the most compelling message in the world, but if your words aren't clear, it will be misunderstood or lost altogether.
Sloppy speech is a real credibility killer.
Sharpen your clarity of speech with these four exercises:
Jaw: Stretch the jaw wide as you say EE-AW-AH (the ‘surprised donkey’)
Lips: Flutter the lips with "brrrrr" sounds
Tongue: Say, “Little Lily Langtree licked eleven lovely little lemon lollipops”
Soft Palate: Say, “UNG UNG UNG” like you are PacMan in the arcade game eating the dots!
Just like physical exercise, your speech organs need workouts and warm-ups. When these are toned, your speech becomes crisp and clear.
