How to be a more confident speaker: The 3 B’s of grounding

Ever feel nervous before speaking? Like your thoughts are racing, your heart’s pounding, and your voice might betray you?

Grounding is the key.

Here are my 3B’s to help you ground yourself before a presentation or important conversation:

Belief: Ground your thoughts.

Replace "I'm nervous, I can't do this, what will they think?" with empowering beliefs like: "I'm grounded, I'm centred, I know why I'm speaking, I'm rooted in my purpose."

Body: Ground your energy.

Bring your awareness to your root chakra - that energetic centre at the base of your spine. This is where your sense of safety and stability lives. Plant your feet firmly. Gently rock back and forth and imagine drawing energy down into your body.

Breath: Ground your nervous system.

You cannot feel grounded if you're not breathing. Deepen your breath. Inhale through your nose, sending the breath low - into your belly, down to your feet. Let your breath anchor you, it’s your life force.

When you're truly grounded, you become unshakeable. Your voice resonates from a deep, primal place. People won't just hear you - they'll feel you.
