A quick 5-step voice warm-up

Do you take the time to warm-up your voice before speaking?

For example ... before a podcast, a keynote, a presentation or creating a video?

If you're shaking your head, don't worry you are not alone.

I find many people don't warm-up their voice when they first come into my coaching programs. And their minds are blown by the difference it makes.

Do it with me! Try this 5-step voice warm-up!

Step 1: Breathing: You're going to breathe low and deep into the tummy and exhale on the sound S - H. Like SHHHH!

Step 2: Humming: Breathe in and exhale with a humming sound! Feeling those vibrations, keep one hand on your belly, the other hand on your chest.

Step 3: Vibrating your lips: let the air pass through naturally!

Step 4: Surprised Donkey: Make an "Eeyore" sound (or EEE ORR) with a surprise "Ah". So “EEE AHHH”. This is to warm up the jaw and lips.

Step 5: Let it all out: I like to call this mayonnaise (you might have to listen to the podcast to hear this one).
