The best metaphor for posting on social media

The playbook for posting on social media is in this metaphor.

I call it the House Party.

Let me paint the picture for you…

Your account = your house.

Your post = your invitation to your party.

(So the energy is more 'inviting-in' than 'pushing-out').

Positive Comments = people knocking on the door.

(You wouldn't ignore people coming to your house for a party, so reply to comments with warmth).

Negative Comments = people coming to your party either uninvited, with a bad vibe or just being downright rude. Here are your options:

  1. You could confront them and cause a scene (reply to their comment).

  2. You could ignore them and get on with your party.

  3. You could kick them out (delete and block).

The House Party metaphor will help you remain a SOVEREIGN to your socials and not a SLAVE to your socials.
